Harold H. Pearson was born April 5, 1912, at Thunder Hawk, SD, to Henning and Alma (Anderson) Pearson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Everett and Lester. In 1913, he moved with his parents to a farm near Montrose and in 1915 they moved to Unityville. In 1939, they bought a farm near Salem. He lived there with his parents until 1949. He married Clara Mednansky on Aug. 12, 1949, at Sioux Falls. They farmed until the fall of 1996, when they moved into Madison. They were foster parents to 17 children, most with disabilities. Survivors include his wife, Clara of Madison; a son, Daryl (Patty) of Sioux Falls; two daughters, Judy Roberts of Sioux Falls, and Ila (Larry) French of Madison; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Lois (Cochran) Pearson of Spring Park, MN. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Mon., March 31, in Ramsey Baptist Church, rural Montrose, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday, with the family present from 7-8 p.m., at the Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem. The Kinzley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
