Description	:	Harold H. Schatzke, 96, of Fargo, ND, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Essentia Health in Fargo surrounded by his family. Harold Herman Schatzke was born on the family homestead in Gill Township near Wheatland, ND on November 8, 1917, the youngest child of Herman and Martha (Schimming) Schatzke. Schatzke, 96, of Fargo, ND, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Essentia Health in Fargo surrounded by his family. Harold Herman Schatzke was born on the family homestead in Gill Township near Wheatland, ND on November 8, 1917, the youngest child of Herman and Martha (Schimming) Schatzke. He was raised there and attended the Goshen School. Harold then farmed with his father, later his son, Keith and before he retired his grandson, Jason. He married the love of his life, Billie Miller August 29, 1947 at the Goshen Moravian Church. Even though he now lived in Fargo, Harold spent many hours helping on the farm until the age of 90. Harold was a lifetime member and had been on the Board of Trustees of the Goshen Moravian Church. He served many years as the supervisor of the Gill township board and was a charter member of the Chaffee Lions Club. Harold enjoyed traveling especially to Florida, California and Branson, MO. In his younger years, he played banjo in a family band for many house parties. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers Lester and Wilbert; sister, Alba Black and a daughter-in-law: Joan Schatzke. Harold's life was his family and church. Surviving are his wife: Billie; son: Keith, daughter: Carol; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
