Harold was 89 years of age having been born on May 16, 1920 to Fred and Esther (Oman) Anderson on his parents farm north of Gothenburg in Custer County, Nebraska. Harold as boy, he attended school at The Swedish Grove, and he graduated from University of Nebraska at Kearney, Nebraska. He taught school at Bolus, Nebraska. Harold was a Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, the 703 Bomb Squadron, 445 group. As a bomber pilot, his plane was shot down in Germany. He was a World War II prisoner of war. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal. He is a member of the VFW. Harold married Ruth Votaw on February 1, 1989 at his home in Gothenburg, Nebraska. Their marriage was a happy one. Together they were able to travel all over the United States. Harold is survived by: sister Eleanor Wright of Colorado Springs, Colorado and a host of extended family and friends. Harold was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by: wife, Ruth Anderson and his parents, Fred and Esther Anderson.
