Read More	SERVICES HELD FOR WAR VETERAN, HAROLD STOLDORF Harold L. Stoldorf, son of William A. and Sylvia Stoldorf, was born on a farm west of Geneva, October 16, 1915. He passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva, September 19,1972, at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 3 days after a short illness. He attended school at District 48. He was married to Vivian Leonard July 24, 1937. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Floyd (Virginia) Richardson; Robert; and Julie at home. He was a member of the United Methodist church of Geneva. He entered military service June 30, 1944, served in the Army overseas in the European Theater 13 months with the 142nd Infantry Regimental. He was discharged January 18, 1946. During his 13 months service overseas, he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a charter member of the Samuel Marsh VFW Post of Geneva. After being discharged from the service he returned to his previous work at Geneva. He later became employed by the Geneva public school system as both bus driver and bus maintenance man for nearly 13 years. Due to a disability, he retired in 1970. He was preceded in death byhis father, William A. Stoldorf, and a grandson, Jeffrey J. Richardson. He is survived by his wife Vivian; daughters Virginia and Julie, and a son Bob; a son-in-law, Floyd Richardson, and a daughter-inlaw, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Stoldorf; five grandchildren; his mother, Sylvia Stoldorf; a brother Dean; a sister Hazel (James) Murray and a host of other relatives and friends. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather, with one of his greatest joys being his children and grandchildren. Nebraska Signal Sept.28,1972 page 5.
