Description	:	Harold Lee Bowen, 82, of Waverly, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Waverly Health Center. He was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Shell Rock, son of Lawerence and Theo Bennett Bowen. On Jan. 16, 1949, he married Correne Cooley at the Methodist Church in Waverly. He graduated from Shell Rock High in 1944 and served for 24 months in the Army during World War II with tours in the Philippines and later Washington, D.C. Read More	Harold Lee Bowen, 82, of Waverly, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Waverly Health Center. He was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Shell Rock, son of Lawerence and Theo Bennett Bowen. On Jan. 16, 1949, he married Correne Cooley at the Methodist Church in Waverly. He graduated from Shell Rock High in 1944 and served for 24 months in the Army during World War II with tours in the Philippines and later Washington, D.C. He served as a chauffer for dignitaries while serving. Mr. Bowen worked at Rath Packing Co. and Chamberlain Manufacturing. In 1970 he started working at Clay Equipment, Cedar Falls, and in 1983 he started working at Waverly Junior High and farmed west of Shell Rock. He retired in 1991. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Waverly. Survived by: his wife, Correne, of Windsor Rehab and Care Center, Cedar Falls; two sons, Dean (Helen) of Shell Rock and Dan (Michelle) of Brandon, S.D.; four daughters, Kathy (Jim) Quisano of Carson, Calif., Deb (Ken) Young of Cedar Rapids, Connie (Carl) Smith of Cedar Falls and Peg (Dave) Lindeman of Lakewood, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: two brothers, Clarence and James. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church, Waverly, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Shell Rock. Military rites will be conducted by Waverly American Legion Post 176. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly. Memorials: may be directed to the family.
