Description	:	Harold Lloyd Dee, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Dee, was born at the farm home of his parents north of Baxter, Iowa, June 15, 1926, and passed away at the parental home September 29, 1931 at the tender age of 5 years 3 months and 14 days. Harold came home from school on the Thursday preceding his death complaining of not feeling well, but did not appear to be seriously ill. Read More	Harold Lloyd Dee, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Dee, was born at the farm home of his parents north of Baxter, Iowa, June 15, 1926, and passed away at the parental home September 29, 1931 at the tender age of 5 years 3 months and 14 days. Harold came home from school on the Thursday preceding his death complaining of not feeling well, but did not appear to be seriously ill. During the night he exhibited greater discomfort, and Friday morning a physician was called, but even at that time it was impossible to determine the nature of his illness. By Saturday morning he had become partially paralyzed, and it was then apparent that he was afflicted with that dread disease, infantile paralysis, and in spite of all that the loving care of the members of his family and the skill of the local physicians in consultation by telephone with the highest medical authorities in the Middle West could do the dread malady pursued it relentless course; and after much suffering, Harold on Tuesday morning passed on to the other world where pain is unknown. Harold was a very bright and lovable little boy. He had just started to attend school at the beginning of the fall term, and took great interest in his schoolwork and showed a marked aptness for it. He had attended the Congregational Sunday school at Baxter since he was three years old, and was present on the Sunday preceding the beginning of his last illness. During his sicness he was patient little sufferer, and when he knew he could not get well, he expressed himself as glad to go and instructed his parents to tell his teacher that "he would be better off." Funeral services were held on the lawn of the Dee home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Byron W. Northrop, pastor of the Community Congregational Church of Baxter officiating.
