Description	:	Harold W. "Bob" Tacha was born September 13, 1921 in rural Jennings, KS to Earl L. and Jessie R. Tacha. Bob passed away October 15, 2021 at the Norton County Hospital at the age of 100. Bob grew up west of Jennings, attended Rock Island School for three years, and then graduated from Jennings Consolidated High School in 1939. He then attended Strickler's business School of Topeka for one year. "Bob" Tacha was born September 13, 1921 in rural Jennings, KS to Earl L. and Jessie R. Tacha. Bob passed away October 15, 2021 at the Norton County Hospital at the age of 100. Bob grew up west of Jennings, attended Rock Island School for three years, and then graduated from Jennings Consolidated High School in 1939. He then attended Strickler's business School of Topeka for one year. Bob was employed by Fitzsimmons General Hospital (in the enlisted men's credit department) until entering the U.S. Army in September of 1942. He served in the QMC of the Army for 40 months and was discharged in January of 1946. Bob married Neoma M. Kusy in Jennings on September 14, 1946. In 1947, he graduated from Denver Barber College and then operated Tacha Barber from 1947-1968. Bob was appointed as the Jennings Postmaster in May of 1968 and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in October of 1998. He was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Isis Shrine, Jennings American Legion, and the Jennings Lion Club. Bob served as the city clerk and city councilman from 1953-1996. He also served on the Jennings Housing Board, Cemetery Board, and the Museum Board. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jessie Tacha and brothers: Gerald, Jack, Allen, and Galen. He is survived by his wife, Neoma of Norton; sons: Roger Tacha and wife Peggy of Oakley and Royal Tacha and wife Gayle of Hoxie and grandchildren: Dustin Tacha and wife Jessica and their daughters Madilynn and Emmarie Sue, Ashley Brooks and husband Austin and their children Brynna and Ayden Brown, and Garrett Tacha and fiancé Sarah and his children Josephine and Tucker Tacha.
