Description	:	Hattie was the youngest of four daughters born to Archie and Emma Dresser. She was born and raised in Le Mars, Iowa. Her father died when was only six years old, and her mother died when she was 15. After her mother died, she lived with her newlywed sister, Lottie, and her husband, Stephen Campbell. Hattie taught school in the Fredonia Township School and other schools in Plymouth County. She was well liked in the community and had many close friends. She was born and raised in Le Mars, Iowa. Her father died when was only six years old, and her mother died when she was 15. After her mother died, she lived with her newlywed sister, Lottie, and her husband, Stephen Campbell. Hattie taught school in the Fredonia Township School and other schools in Plymouth County. She was well liked in the community and had many close friends. Hattie contracted typhoid fever about five weeks before she died. At one point the doctor reported that she was doing better and was expected to recover. Then, her condition worsened. THe cause of death was reported as a hemorrhage and typhoid pneumonia. She was staying with her sister in Lester, Iowa, at the time of her death. According to the report of her death in the Rock Rapids Reporter, "Miss Dresser was a young lady of many amiable traits of character and had a host of friends, who are sorely grieved that she should be called from earth while in the prime of life." Funeral services were held in Lester and another graveside service was held in LeMars. She was buried in the same cemetery lot as her parents. She was survived by her three sisters, two nephews, one niece, and a host of friends. Her sisters, Josie and Helen, both named daughters after her.
