Description	:	Harriet was from Owen County, Indiana, where she was born and reared. In 1860 she married Elias Fiscus. In the fall of 1865 they moved to Marshall County, Iowa, locating upon a farm nine miles northwest of Marshalltown. They resided there until the fall of 1870 when they moved to Shelby County and settled near Harlan. They remained there one year, and then moved to Audubon County, purchasing 80 acres in Section 7, Douglas Township. In 1860 she married Elias Fiscus. In the fall of 1865 they moved to Marshall County, Iowa, locating upon a farm nine miles northwest of Marshalltown. Harriet and Elias have four children - Benjamin F., Eliza Ann, wife of C. T. Wyley; Mary E., wife of A. H. Speas, and Walter S. (Information from bio of Elias Fiscus in "Shelby and Audubon Counties, Iowa Biographical Dictionary", page 788) The following is information from the obituary of Harriet's husband, Elias published in Times Republican Marshalltown, IA [Monday 2-11-1929] p. 11 Elias Fiscus, died 11 Feb 1929 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ann Wiley. He was born at Spencer, Owen county, Indiana May 7, 1837. He was married to Harriet Fiscus, a distant cousin, Jan. 8, 1860. Mr. and Mrs. Fiscus came to Marshall county in 1865, settling on the Dent farm, now owned by C. E. Arney, northwest of Albion. In 1870 the Fiscus family, with the Thomas Elsbery family, went by covered wagon to Audubon county, settling on the raw prairie. Mrs. Fiscus died Jan. 30, 1888. Mr. Fiscus was the oldest of six children: Albert Fiscus of Van Nuys, California Adam, of Alma, Nebraska "Aunt Patsy" Sommerlot and Mrs. Sarah Hulet
