Pitts II At Wichita Kansas, and Some Reminiscences of the Family Harriet Louise Budrow was born at Schoolcraft, Mich, July 21, 1853. She was the only child of Olive Jane Kennedy of Honeoye and Perry Budrow, Mr. Budrow was born at Moscow, N.Y. After the death of Mr. Budrow, which occurred comparatively early in their married life, Olive Budrow and her little daughter, Harriet, returned to the home of her father, Porter Kennedy, at Honeoye. Here "Hattie" Budrow developed into a most striking beauty, recognized as such anywhere she went. Beauty usually brings popularity, and popularity attracts the attention of masculine admirers. In this case it proved to be the pick of the lot: Harriet Budrow married Perz R. Pitts II, of Richmond at Honeoye in 1875. Perz Richmond Pitts II was the second son of Wm. R. Pitts III, who, in his youth was, by inheritance from babyhood, the wealthiest young man in Richmond. He owned a large farm on the road to Allen's Hill. He married Emily Pomeroy, one of the belles of East Bloomfield and they had a fine family of five children – four sons, Benton, Perz R. II, William IV, Charles, and one daughter, Emily Pomeroy (Stoddard). Here Perz R. Pitts II, and his bride went to reside, and here were born four children, Olive, George, William and Fred. On the Saturday before Christmas, Mrs. Pitts rode to the post office at Wichita, Kansas, alighted without help and mailed her little Christmas gifts to each of her loved ones – each gift being the work of her own loving hands. Two days later, after she had dressed to make a visit, she had a stroke and only lived till the next night. The funeral was on Dec. 24 and she was buried in the Pitts family lot at Abilene beside her husband, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Pitts III, his sister, Emily Pitts Stodard, and his brother, Charles P. Pitts, all of whom were formerly from Honeoye. The two daughters of Olive Pitts Rumold (of Burdick, Kansas) are unusually talented musicians. One of these granddaughters was unable to present, but the other one gave a short piano recital of her grandmother's favorite musical selections at the funeral. Her bearers were three sons, three sons-in-law, and two grandsons. Every relative was at the funeral except a grandson in Indiana and granddaughter in Colorado.
