A letter further clarifies that her mother died when she was two months old and her father died when she was two years old. She did not know their Christian names. Mrs. Ware applied for admission to the Washington Veterans' Home on September 15, 1929 at the age of 66 years. Read More	CIVIL WAR VETERAN WIDOW Harriet Ware was born September 10, 1863 in London, England. She listed her parents as Mr. Osborn and Miss Brennan. A letter further clarifies that her mother died when she was two months old and her father died when she was two years old. She did not know their Christian names. Mrs. Ware applied for admission to the Washington Veterans' Home on September 15, 1929 at the age of 66 years. She indicated that she had resided in the state since 1904 and that she was the widow of Franklin Ware, who died on the 31st day of January, 1914 at Fort Steilacoom Hospital. The couple had married on April 26, 1910 in Tacoma. They had no children. Mr. Ware was a veteran of the Civil War and had enlisted as a private on August 12, 1862 at Medina, Ohio. He served in Company "B", 124th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was discharged as a Corporal on May 13, 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee. Mrs. Ware did not list a living relative in 1929, but a friend, Mrs. C. A. Rivard of Tacoma, Washington. In 1938, she willed her possessions to her friend, Mrs. Laura Ballew, of Orting, except a floor lamp to be given to Bill Ross of Silverdale. She died at the Veterans' Home on January 29, 1942 and was buried in the Veterans' Home Cemetery. The death notification letter the home sent to Mrs. Rivard closed with this paragraph: "She had a very nice funeral service; lovely flowers were given by friends, and she looked very sweet and at peace in her casket, and we feel sure that she will receive a reward from the Lord for her faithful Christian life."
