Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, July 18, 1985 Harriet Rosella Bigley, daughter of Oliver Lewis Aikin and Bertha Agnes Linder-Aikin, was born on August 2, 1906, at her parents home on a farm near Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away July 9, 1985, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska. In March of 1918 she was baptized into Christian Faith at the First Christian Church in Nelson, where she has been a member for the past 67 years. Harriet was educated in the Oxbow rural school and the Nelson schools and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1924. On August 2, 1931, she was united in marriage to Alfred L. Bigley at Washington, Kansas. They lived in Omaha, Nebraska, for 6 years, in Corpus Christi, Texas, for 39 years, and in Nelson, Nebraska. She loved her home - taking pride in a beautiful yard and flowers. Her hobbies were sewing and crocheting. She and her husband loved to travel. Harriet was preceeded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jonas Willie and Ralph Aikin, and one sister, Mary Hinz. Survivors include her husband Alfred; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Mercier of Bellevue, Washington, Mrs. L.W. (Ruth) Richling of Beatrice, Nebraska, Mrs. Maxine Olderog of Richardson, Texas; one brother, Joe R. Aikin of Beatrice, Nebraska; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 13th, at the First Christian Church in Nelson. Casketbearers were Jim Joy, Joe Richling, Roger Moeller, Al Sanders, John Hinz, and Bill Olderog. Interment was at the Nelson Cemetery, Klawitter-Price Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
