It's lonesome here without you; we miss you more each day. Life's not the same since you went away. When days are sad and lonely, and everything goes wrong. We hear you whisper, "Cheer up! And carry on. . ." Each time we see your picture, you smile and say, "Don't cry, I'm in God's hands now, we will meet again some day." Harriet Rogers was born on May 18, 1926, in "Old Stanford," Mont., to Harry and Minnie Crabtree. "Tootie" was raised on the Long Investment Ranch west of Stanford. She will be forever remembered for her zest for life and her compassionate understanding and care of others. Harriet was blessed by two children; Cheri was born to her first husband, Donald Holzer. Donald left this Earth in 1948. To her second marriage - to Dane Walker - a son, Michael, was born. Dane left us in 1955. Harriet married again in 1978, to Julian Rogers. Julian passed away in 1985. Harriet is survived by her loving family: Cheri (Holzer) and Jim Tompkins of Helena Michael Walker and Dianna Sims of Lakeside Granddaughters Kaitlin Walker of Spokane and Kym (Tompkins) an Erick Liska and great-grand-daughters Stella and Grace Harriet of Helena Her niece, Barb Skelton and husband Paul Gatzmeier of Billings. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Hammer of Eugene, Ore., Ruth Hardenbrook of Stanford, and Roberta Armont of Plentywood. Harriet was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Hotzer, Dane Walker and Julian Rogers. Also, her sister Gladys and brother Duffy Crabtree and parents Harry and Minnie Crabtree. Harriet attended Stanford High School, graduating valedictorian, and also attended Western Montana College in Dillon. Harriet lived most of her life in the Judith Basin, living and working on the ranches of her husbands. In 1987, Harriet and her daughter Cheri oppened Cobblestone Clothing in Helena, where she worked until her retirement in 2004. She was an integral part of the success of this business. A private celebration of her life was held in Helena. A family gathering to celebrate "Tootie's" life will be held on her birthday, May 18, 2007, at the Hardenbrook Ranch west of Stanford with interment to follow at the Stanford Cemetery.
