She passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Harriett grew uup in Guthrie Center and she graduated from Guthrie Center High Schoool in 1957. Read More	Harriett Sloss -65 Harriett A. Sloss, 65, of Guthrie Center, was born March 5, 1939 to Theodore & Emma Breitenstein Davis in Guthrie Center. She passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Harriett grew uup in Guthrie Center and she graduated from Guthrie Center High Schoool in 1957. She worked in Des Moines at a lawyer's office until her marriage to Gary Sloss on November 30, 1958 in Guthrie Center. She worked for Randolph's for a short time. After her children were in school, she worked for United Grocery Store in Guthrie Center for 1 1/2 years and then to the Guthrie Country Treasurer offfice for 30 1/2 years, beginning as clerk moving up to deputy, and then elected County Tresurer. She retired on December 30, 2002. Harriett enjoyed sewing, cooking, her flowers, spending time with her family and going to her grandchildren's sporting events. She also enjoyed going on fishing trips and her rides with her husband Gary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Guthrie Center Booster Club, the Hospital Auxiliary, and Mary Circle. She is survived by her husband Gary of Guthrie Center, her children; Vickie (Charlie) Carney of Adair, Pamela Sloss of Matthews, NC, Curtis (Brenda) Sloss of Guthrie Center, Nancy (Dale) Monthei of Johnston, Jason (Wendy) Sloss of Guthrie Center; Grandchildren; Jamie and Jeremy Christofferson, Tyler, Brady, and Blair Carney, Kyle, Spencer and Megan Sloss, Emma and Nolan Monthei, and Samantha Sloss. Step-mother Dorothy Davis of Guthrie Center. Sister Barb (Boyd) Shroyer of Guthrie Center and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were September 29, 2004 at First United Methodist Church, Guthrie Center. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center.
