Was born in Erie County, Pa., on Feb. 9, 1832. Her maiden name was Robinson. She was brought up under the Presbyterian faith. She moved to Ohio in 1840 with her parents. Was married December 19, 1855 to James Montee** who survives her. The result of this union was six children, four boys and two girls, all of whom survive her. Two boys live in California, the balance in Kansas. She with her bereaved husband moved to Kansas in 1875 where they continue to reside. The deceased was a very domestic person, loving her home and its loved ones better than society and its allurements. She devoted her time and care for the development of home ties and its environments. While not a member of any particular church organization, she was of a religious disposition and believed firmly in the religion of Jesus Christ, trusting in his power to save all who call upon Him. Her last hours on earth were calm and peaceful, simply closing life on earth and entering a life of glorious development in the never ending beyond. Hers was the first link in the family circle to broken. She lived to see her children raised to manhood and womanhood, and after great bodily suffering, she realized that her life work on earth was done, and like the even tenor of her life, she yielded to the inevitable decree and passed calmly and peacefully away. Mother's gone! May her loving words and kind acts be a glorious example of faith and encouragement to her children and may you all prepare for a grander reunion above.
