Read More	Harriett Ada Milner was born near Fairmont, Nebraska, March 23, 1878. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity, and spent all but six year of her life in Fillmore county. On July 12, 1904, she was united in marriage with Paul H. Alves, of Juniata, Nebraska. To this union were born three children, Paul G., at home, Marguerite of LIncoln and Julyian M., who passed into Eternal Rest on September 22, 1930. Mrs. Alves has been in failing health for the past two years, however, she tried to carry on, and keep up the home, as her family and home were her dearest earthly treasures. She was always a true and faithful wife, and a most wonderful mother. She was most cheerful and hopeful in time of sorrow and adversity, always believing that in some way or other, the Lord will provide. In early girlhood, she united with the Presbyterian Church of Fairmont, taking active part in its services, and in the work of the church as long as she was able to do so. She was ever ready to assist and comfort in any time of need. Her cheerful and courageous disposition and great Christian fortitude have been a loasting inspiration to many. All through the months of severe suffering, she has been very patient and cheerful, gladly awaiting the time when all her loved ones shall join her in the land from whence none ever wish to return. She passed away on August 3, 1933, at her home near Fairmont, Neb.; aged fifty-five years, four months and eleven days. She leaves to mourn the loss of a loving wife and devoted mother, her husband, Paul H.; a son, Paul, Jr.; a daughter, Marguerite; also one sister, Mrs. Margaret M. Root of Kingston, Arkansas; five brothers, Albert A. and Nathaniel O. Milner of Baker, Oregon; Edward E. and Eugene A. Milner of Nampa, Idaho and Dr. C.A. Milner of San Diego, California; a host of relatives and friends who will miss her presence here. Her body was laid to rest in the Fairmont Cemetery beside that of her precious son, Julian. Two sisters, Mrs. Clara Casburn and Mrs. Sarah Vickery, also preceded her in death. The funeral was held in the Federated Church of Fairmont, Monday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. W.F. Perry of Lincoln officiating, assisted by Rev. Isaac Cassel. Mrs. Wm. Boren and Milan Starks sang and Miss Marion Kemp played the organ. The Fillmore Chronicle (Fairmont) August 10th, 1933 page 3.
