Description	:	Julian McKinley Alves, third child of Paul H. and Harriett Alves, was born near Sawyer, Nebraska, October 12, 1913, and passed into the home beyond on the evening of September 22, 1930; aged sixteen years, eleven months and ten days. Read More	Julian McKinley Alves, third child of Paul H. and Harriett Alves, was born near Sawyer, Nebraska, October 12, 1913, and passed into the home beyond on the evening of September 22, 1930; aged sixteen years, eleven months and ten days. His going was very sudden, as he had only been sick two days and no one realized the severity of his illness until the day he died, in the evening at 10:00 o'clock. He was a young man of a most genial disposition, a universal favorite among the young people of his community and in the schools where he attended. He was always pleasant and agreeable, and ready to do his part in all the work of the home. He was a Junior in the Geneva High School and was at his desk when school closed on last Friday afternoon. He was taking the Commercial Course to prepare him for business. Besides his father and mother, there remains of the immediate family his sister, Miss Marguerite, who is employed with a commercial firm at Lincoln, and Paul H. Jr., who is at home on the farm. Funeral services were conducted at the Federated Church of Fairmont on Wednesday afternoon, September 24, 1930, by the pastor, Rev. W.F. Perry, D.D. In addition to the music by the choir of the Federated Church, a solo was rendered by Supt. Lowell S. Devoe of the Geneva Public Schools, where Julian attended. His body was laid to rest in the Fairmont Cemetery to await that day when the angel of the Lord shall proclaim that time shall be no more. The funeral was largely attended, including Supt. Devoe and one hundred pupils of the Geneva high school. Six Juniors of Geneva high school acted as pallbearers. The Fillmore Chronicle (Fairmont) September 25, 1930 page 3.
