Description	:	Dale H. Nieveen, 83, of Adams, passed away at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams Saturday morning, April 9. He was born Jan. 20, 1928 on a farm near Adams to Martin and Dreaka (Bouma) Nieveen and lived in the Adams area his entire life. Dale served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from Nov. 25, 1950 until the spring of 1952. He returned home to farm and live in the Adams area. Nieveen, 83, of Adams, passed away at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams Saturday morning, April 9. He was born Jan. 20, 1928 on a farm near Adams to Martin and Dreaka (Bouma) Nieveen and lived in the Adams area his entire life. Dale served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from Nov. 25, 1950 until the spring of 1952. He returned home to farm and live in the Adams area. Dale and Ethel Prange were married Nov. 7, 1952 in Holland. He was a lifelong member of the Pella Reformed Church, rural Adams and had been a deacon at the church and on the Pella Cemetery board, the VFW Post No.10042 and the American Legion Post No. 0221, both in Adams. He enjoyed playing cards and fixing things on the farm. Survivors include his wife Ethel; two sons, Russel Nieveen and wife Diane of Adams, and Doug Nieveen and wife Sandy of Firth; five grandchildren, Justin Nieveen and fiance Julie Lanning and her son Carter, Nathan Nieveen and wife Karen, Anissa Klapperich and husband Casey, Trevor Nieveen, and Ashton Nieveen and fiance Evan Egger; and sister in law Wilma Nieveen of Sterling; great grandson Layton Nieveen. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Dreaka (Bouma) Nieveen; three sisters, Geraldine Boyte, Hazel Hesterman, and Donna Kohlschmidt; and brother Nanco Nieveen. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at the Pella Reformed Church, rural Adams with Reverend Marcus Roskamp officiating. Interment will be in the Pella Reformed Church Cemetery. Military graveside services will be provided by Adams VFW Post No. 10042 and the Adams American Legion Post No. 0221. The body will lie in state Monday from noon-9 p.m. at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Adams with the family greeting friends from 7-9, and at the church one hour preceding the service Tuesday. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice in charge.
