Description	:	Harrison Whitson was the son of Zachariah and Jane (Seebolt/Seabolt) Whitson. Harrison relocated from east Tennessee to Jo Daviess county IL with his parents and siblings between 1837 and 1840. On Sept. 30, 1854 he married Harriet Millet in Jo Daviess county IL. In 1869 Harrison, his wife and children relocated to Harrison township, Benton county, IA. On the 1870 US Federal Census Harrison's household is listed next to his older brother William's household. William Whitson had relocated his family to Delaware county IA before 1860 and then to Benton county IA before 1870. ... William Whitson had relocated his family to Delaware county IA before 1860 and then to Benton county IA before 1870. After Zachariah Whitson's death in May 1856, his widow, Jane Whitson, married Harvey Olmstead. Harvey purchased two building lots in Vinton, Benton, IA in 1865 and he and Jane also relocated to Benton county IA. On the 1910 US Federal Census Harriet Whitson reported that she was the mother of eleven children of which only two were still living (Noble and Hiram). Harrison Whitson and two of their young daughters reportedly died of cholera in November 1880. This memorial was created based on the records of Bear Creek Cemetery. No headstone was found.
