Harry Albert Myers, of Wamego, Kansas, departed this life December 20, 1934, at Newman Memorial Hospital, at the age of 39 years and 26 days, after an illness of one week. Harry Myers was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Myers, of Americus. He was born and reared in Americus and was graduated from the Americus High School. Harry Albert Myers, of Wamego, Kansas, departed this life December 20, 1934, at Newman Memorial Hospital, at the age of 39 years and 26 days, after an illness of one week. Harry Myers was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Myers, of Americus. He was born and reared in Americus and was graduated from the Americus High School. When war was declared in 1917 Harry with ten of his friends enlisted in the service of Company L, 137 Infantry, 35th Division. After being in training one year he was sent to France, and in September, 1918, went into the Argonne battle where he was severely wounded. Harry enrolled in Kansas State College at Manhattan, the fall of 1919 and received his Bachelor degree in Agriculture in 1922, and in 1932 he received his Master's Degree in Animal Husbandry. On July 10, 1923, he was married to Julia Nielsen of Emporia. For the past seven years he has been vocational agriculture instructor at Wamego. He was a member of the Methodist Church, The American Legion, Harold Johnson Post No. 172 and of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his wife, Julia Myers, of Wamego; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Myers, of Americus; one brother, Ralph Myers, of Americus, and two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Haise, Crowley, Col., and Mrs. Blanche Peterson, Ames, Iowa. The funeral was held from the Methodist Church in Americus Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Frank. Music was furnished by Mrs. H. H. Bell, Harry Haucks, of Wamego, accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Boise, sang "In The Garden" and "There Is No Night There." The pall bearers were Company L boys: Orin Norris, Clarence Beck, Arthur Ericssor, Earl Hassinger, Walter Andrews and O. R. Stites. Honorary pall bearers were members of the vocational agriculture classes of Wamego High School. Interment was in Americus cemetery. The services at the grave were in charge of Wilford Riegle of the American Legion. Taps were sounded by Harry A. McAfee of the National Guards. Bowers, Seneca; Mr. and Mrs. James Shez, Quinter; Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Haucks, Harry Haucks, Mr. and Mrs. Boise, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Alsop, Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Dauner, Mr. and Mrs. J. F.
