He was reared here, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bittenbender, and moved with his parents to Ames where he attended Iowa State College. He married an Osage girl, Bessie Chase, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Chase. A few years ago he affiliated with the Borden Company, with headquarters in New York. Surviving are his wife at Tuckahoe, and 3 sons; William, at Tuckahoe; Capt. Dick Bittenbender, Quantico, VA; and John, doing radar work on the west coast.
