Description	:	Harry was born at Spokane, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Walters, a prominent pioneer family of the Big Bend country. He spent his early years at Harline, WA where his parents owned and operated Walters Drug Store. He attended the Hartline Elementary Schools. Walters, a prominent pioneer family of the Big Bend country. He spent his early years at Harline, WA where his parents owned and operated Walters Drug Store. He attended the Hartline Elementary Schools. He continued his education at Washington State University where he received his degree in Pharmacy. On August 27, 1924, Miss Carrie Parker and Harry C. Walters were married in Spokane. They made their home at Almira, WA where they owned and operated the Walters Drug Store. In 1932, the Walters moved to Sunnyside having purchased the Mock Pharmacy. It then became Walters Pharmacy on Sunnyside's main corner of Sixth and Edison, which he operated with his wife, Carrie, his brother, Tom Walters, and his nephew, the late Don Montgomery. Walters Pharmacy was the meeting place for everyone who came to Sunnyside for miles around because of his large inventory and the last soda fountain to be in Sunnyside. Harry Walters was banker and financial advisor and marriage counselor for all of his friends and costumers. He was known as an early Veterinarian, having raised cattle and hogs. He owned and operated several ranches and was a friend to everyone he ever met. He and his wife sold Walters Pharmacy in 1964 and retired. For the past four years he had been confined to the Hillcrest Nursing Home, due to an apparent stroke. He was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Sunnyside Rotary Club, the Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce, and the Washington State Pharmacists Assn. He will long be remembered as Sunnyside's most illustrious story teller. He with his wife helped more people of this community than will ever be known. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Carrie Walters, two brothers, Tom Walters and John Walters; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey (Elizabeth) Schmidt and Mrs. Tommy (Mary) Haines and one sister-in-law Mrs. Orin (Alta) Montgomery.
