He was a lawyer, a former Jackson County attorney and probate judge. He was a quartermaster in the Navy during World War I. He was born April 11, 1895, in Parker, KS, the son of Isaac Albert and Lottie B. Breckenridge Crosswhite. He lived in the St. Peters community four years and previously lived in Holton many years. Crosswhite, 91, St. Peters, MO, formerly of Holton, died Wednesday, March 4, 1987, at a St. Peters hospital. He was a lawyer, a former Jackson County attorney and probate judge. He was a quartermaster in the Navy during World War I. He was born April 11, 1895, in Parker, KS, the son of Isaac Albert and Lottie B. Breckenridge Crosswhite. He lived in the St. Peters community four years and previously lived in Holton many years. Mr. Crosswhite was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Arthur N. Weir Post No. 7 of the American Legion, Holton Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1367, Holton Lodge No. 42, AF&AM, and Columbian Chapter No. 152 of the Order of Eastern Star, all in Holton. He also was a member of the Hiawatha York Rite, Topeka Consistory of Scottish Rite and Arab Shrine in Topeka. He was married to Laura Gantz on November 28, 1958 in Holton. She died July 18, 1973. A daughter, Mrs. Doris J. Lee, died in August 1984 and a step-daughter, Mrs. Jean Ward, died in October 1941. Survivors include a son-in-law, Charles Lee, St. Peters, MO; two step-daughters, Mrs. Charlene Gibson, Dewey, OK, and Mrs. Betty Saubers, Adrian, MO; three step-sons, George Gantz, Auburn, WA; Raymond Gantz, Lincoln City, OR; and D.E. Gantz, Holton; a sister, Mrs. Lucretia Hodgson, Parker; four grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
