Description	:	Harry McGloghlon of Orange City, deputy sheriff of Sioux county and a former resident of Hawarden, died at the Veterans' hospital in Des Moines Sunday night of diabetes and complications. Mr. McGloghlon had suffered with diabetes for many years, but his last severe illness dated back only to last December. For a short time, he was in an Orange City hospital, but he was taken to the Veterans' hospital the latter part of December. Funeral services are being held at Orange City today. Then the remains will be brought to Hawarden, where services will be held at the Methodist church.... Harry McGloghlon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester McGloghlon, was born on a farm near here on April 22, 1891, and passed away on February 27, 1944, at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 25 days. He grew to young manhood on the farm and later came to Hawarden to make his home. He served in the army in World War I, and was a member of the American Legion. For a time, he served on the Hawarden police force. During the last five or six years, he served as deputy sheriff of Sioux county. Mr. McGloghlon was married to Mrs. Esther Taylor a number of years ago and four children were born to this union. He is survived by his widow and four children, Donald, Ruth, Sylvester and Harriet, all at home; two step-sons, Bernard and Larry Taylor, both of whom are in the navy; his mother, Mrs. Ada McGloghlon, and one sister, Mrs. Leo Comstock of Sioux City. It finds inferential support in the application for his military tombstone, which has includes a handwritten "4-22-92" above his date of death. It also finds inferential support in Harry's WW II draft registration (serial no. U125), which indicates that he was born April 2 [sic] 1892.**
