Description	:	Mrs. Ada May McGloghlon, a long time resident of Hawarden and vicinity, passed away at the Hawarden hospital Sunday morning after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. W.V. Bell in charge. Interment was in Grace Hill cemetery. Ada May Macomber was born on March 18, 1866, at Manchester, Delaware county, Iowa, the daughter of Alonzo and Martha Macomber. She came west with her parents in a covered wagon and they homesteaded in Union county, S.D., near Hawarden. she was united in marriage with Sylvester McGoghlon on March 31, 1887. For 35 years she lived on a farm northwest of Hawarden in Union county. Then with her son, Harry McGloghlon, she came to Hawarden to live, where she lived ever since except for five years when she resided at Orange City. For the past two years, she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Dowdey. She was the mother of three children, two of whom, Harry and William McGloghlon, as well as her husband, preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Leo Comstock of Sioux City, and one brother, J.A. Macomber of Beatrice, Neb., 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a member of the Methodist church and of the Mothers Club of the American Legion Auxiliary. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Comstock, Mrs. Robert Pollock, Mrs. Maynard Christiansen and Mrs. Clifford Woodhouse, all of Sioux city, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Macomber of Beatrice, Neb., James Hamil of Cascade, Iowa, Mrs. Harry McGloghlon and children of Orange City and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Taylor of Sioux Falls. The Independent (Hawarden, Iowa) 1/31/1946
