Mark died at his home in Creighton, February 13, 1922 from complications of a bronchial nature and from valvular affectations. The subject of this sketch was born September 16, 1893 near Creighton being the eldest of a family of six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mark. He resided in the community during his lifetime except while in the service of his country. Mark died at his home in Creighton, February 13, 1922 from complications of a bronchial nature and from valvular affectations. The subject of this sketch was born September 16, 1893 near Creighton being the eldest of a family of six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mark. He resided in the community during his lifetime except while in the service of his country. With a contingency of soldiers from Knox county, he entered service in Camp Funston in September 1917, where he was stationed for six weeks being then transferred to Camp Pike, Ark., serving first in the light field artillery and later as assistant cook and after fourteen months of service was released in December 1918. Shortly thereafter, he was married to Marie Hart of Winnetoon, who with one small daughter survive as do Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mark, the parents, Ralph and William, the brothers, Mrs. Frank Overton and Miss Rachel, the sisters. Military honors were accorded the deceased, the funeral cortege being in charge of the Creighton Post American Legion. Services were held in the M.E. church at 2 p.m., Wednesday, conducted by Rev. Farner. Interment in Creighton Cemetery. Within a span of less than twenty nine years, Harry E. Mark faced the world in the various vicissitudes to which man is presented and like a stalwart soldier within the hearing of voice faced ever forward and to that realm from whence no one returns, he was beckoned at the final bugle summons.
