Description	:	Harry E. Sims, the son of Albert and Gana Sarah Dixon Sims, was born in a sod house eight miles west of Aurora on July 21, 1883. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on December 22, 1980, having attained the age of 87 years, 5 months and 1 day. He spent his childhood on his parents farm and received his education in the rural school near his parents home and then attended the Aurora High School. Sims, the son of Albert and Gana Sarah Dixon Sims, was born in a sod house eight miles west of Aurora on July 21, 1883. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on December 22, 1980, having attained the age of 87 years, 5 months and 1 day. He spent his childhood on his parents farm and received his education in the rural school near his parents home and then attended the Aurora High School. After graduation from high school he attended Doane College. At the June 1980 Aurora High School Alumni Reunion he was honored as the oldest living graduate from Aurora High School. Harry was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County with the exception of five years that he resided in California. In 1917 he was united in marriage to Nelle Bright at Winside, Nebraska. Two daughters were born to them. His wife preceded him in death in 1928. He was a member of the Federated Church in Aurora for over 50 years and sang in their choir for most of those years. He was also an active member of the Lions Club and the Odd Fwllows Lodge. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Ellen Cooper, his parents, two brothers, Hollis and Frank Sims and two sisters, Ella Mae Sims and Mrs. Leota Otto. His survivors are one daughter Harriett Toof and her husband Robert of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister Mrs. Violet McDonald a resident of Hamilton Manor, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and other relatives and many close friends.
