Description	:	Violet E. McDonald, the daughter of Albert G. and Sarah Dixon Sims, was born at Aurora, Nebraska on March 4, 1890. Her death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on April 1, 1981, having attained the age of 91 years and 27 days. Her childhood was spent in this vicinity, where she attended the public schools. Following her graduation from Aurora High School she attended the University of Nebraska. Later she spent one year in Germany studying music. In 1946 she was united in marriage to David McDonald. They resided in California. Her husband preceded her in death in 1974. In 1975 she returned to Aurora to make her home. For several years she was an instructor in piano. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sun City, California and since returning to Aurora had attended the Federated Church with her brother, the late Harry Sims, as long as her health permitted. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Jolis, Frank and Harry Sims and two sisters, Mrs. Leota Otto and Ella Mae Sims. Her only survivors are five nieces, Mrs. Sarah Sue Merrick of Aurora, Mrs. Harriett Toof of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mrs. Mary Boyd of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Shirley Nichols of Medford, Oregon and Mrs. Betty Moore of Caldwell, Idaho and other relatives and close friends.
