Nelson, the son of Otto and Mahala (Mundt) Nelson was born May 4, 1905 at Wausa and died December 31, 1993 at the Good Samaritan Center in Bloomfield. As a child, Harry moved with his family to Holt County near Emmet and later to O'Neill. As a young man he moved to a farm northeast of O'Neill near the village of Opportunity. In 1925 he moved back to Knox County on a farm northwest of Bloomfield. On April 5, 1948 he married Marie Fritz. They lived on a farm west of Lindy until 1977 when they retired and moved to Center. He and his wife entered the Good Samaritan Center in May 1992. Mrs. Nelson died on March 1, 1993. Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. John (Pearl) Beems of Vancouver, WA, Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Nesbit of Hesperia, CA, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Zimmerman of South Sioux City, Mrs. Ervin (Bernice) Engelhart of South Sioux City and Mrs. Francis (Grace) Knudson of Center; two brothers-in-law, Rudy Fritz and Henry Fritz of Bloomfield and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law and three nephews.
