Arthur Wiese sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus: and Going Down the Valley" with Mrs. Paul Baiotto accompanying on the organ. Interment was made in the Okoboji Cemetery in Arnolds Park with Elmer Nielson, Elmer Kiltz, Clarence Eckman, Melvin McKinney, Herman Taylor and Elmer Pearson acting as pallbearers. Graveside services were conducted by members of the Okoboji Lakes Post NO. 654 of the American Legion. Mrs. Elmer Kiltz and Mrs. Lawrence Alberts cared for the floral arrangements. Harry Henry Hoesch son of George Frederick and Catherine Elizabeth Hoesch was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 27, 1893 and was at the time of his death 66 years, 2 months and 18 days of age. He came with his parents to Milford in 1894. Harry received his education in Milford schools and as a young man joined the Congregational Church, where he took an active part and was a regular attendant. In 1919, he was united in marriage to Selma Palmer, the ceremony-taking place in Waterloo, Iowa. They established their first home in Minneapolis, Minnesota where they resided until 1929. They then moved to Ashville, New York (to care for Selma's father and stepmother) where they lived until 1939. The next two years they spent in Corpus Christi, Texas moving to Arnolds Park in 1941 where they have since made their home. Harry was interested in outdoor life, having served as Conservation Officer in New York and Iowa. Failing health the past few years has deprived him of this pleasure and the past year has been confined to his home. Following a heart attack, he was taken to the Marcus Snyder Memorial Hospital in Spirit Lake, then to the Veteran's Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he passed away Sunday, May 10. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joe, two sisters, Mrs. Maude Bradew and Mrs. Elizabeth Gallager. Survivors include his wife Selma, two sisters, Emma, Mrs. Will Dewey of Pomona, California and Louise, Mrs. Arthur Wiese of Arnolds Park and one brother, Carl of Louisville, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews survive. Relatives from away included Mrs. Carrie Curler (Selma's sister), Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Livingston and Robert Curler of Eau Clair, Wisconsin, Mr. Val Rausch of Sutherland, Mrs. Lizzie Ginger of Everly, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Rausch of Spencer and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rausch of Storm Lake.
