Harry was born on Jan. 7, 1889, and departed this life Jan. 7, 1960, at the age of 71 years. He was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and remained a member to the end. Harry lived all his life in Lamoni except for a short while in World War I training at Camp Dodge. He was honorably discharged for being physically unfit. Harry lived all his life in Lamoni except for a short while in World War I training at Camp Dodge. He was honorably discharged for being physically unfit. Harry had helped at the Coliseum previous to World War I and upon his return he accepted a job as custodian, taking of tickets, etc., and remained there until he became eligible for old age assistance. Harry was well known for his willingness to help various organizations, banquets, and many other functions held in the Coliseum. In his last few years he became somewhat crippled and lame but nevertheless he would freely offer his services. The last year or so of his life he suffered a stroke and was taken to the hospital for a time, then to the rest home; here he remained until his passing. Harry was preceded in death by his father and mother; also two brothers, Willie Bass and George Bass. His only surviving relative is his nephew, Seth Bass, who is living in Lamoni.
