Born May 7, 1932, in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Carl Thomas and Goldie Reynolds Wilder.Mr. Wilder was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and retired from Draper Corporation after forty-two years of service.A Veteran of the United States Navy, he served during the Korean Conflict and received a National Defense Commendation.Mr. Wilder was a member of VFW Post 9539, the Masonic Lodge, and served as a volunteer fireman and medical emergency responder with the Westview-Fairforest Fire & Rescue 3 for the past forty-three years.He attended Trinity Presbyterian Church. Mr. Wilder is survived by his wife, Judy; a son, James Timothy Wilder and wife Rhonda of Pauline; two daughters, Tammy Duncan of Roebuck and Tracie Smith and husband Ken of Moore; a step-son, Ray Raines of Inman; a brother, Ned Wilder, Sr. of Roebuck; a sister, Elaine Gregory of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, Josh Smith, Travis Silvey, and Dusty Silvey; a step-grandson, Jacob Raines; a great-granddaughter, Brooke Silvey; three nephews and a niece. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006, at Lanford-Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2006, in the Lanford-Dunbar Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ray Hellings officiating.Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Members of the Westview-Fairforest Fire & Rescue 3 will be serving as pallbearers and honorary escorts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in remembrance of Mr. Wilder be made to the Westview-Fairforest Fire & Rescue 3, 4247 Anderson Mill Road, Moore, SC 29369.
