He was born on May 30, 1921 in Ashland, the son of Harry Cote, Sr. and Rose E. (Ruel) Cote. He graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1940. He went on to College at St. Anselm's, completing two years, before entering the Military Service, where he served from 1943 to 1946. Harry married his wife of forty-three years, Olive Bickford, on April 21, 1951. Harry was a farmer for over 55 years, first working on his father's farm on Thompson Street in Ashland, then on his own farm in New Hampton where he operated Cote's Dairy for many years. He enjoyed his family and liked to listen to his favorite sports teams on the radio. He was predeceased by his parents, Rose E. (Ruel) and Harry Cote Sr., his wife Olive (Bickford) Cote, two daughters Kathleen Cote and Ann Marie Cote, two grandchildren, Joshua and Jennifer Baker, two sisters, Theresa Hooker and Harriet Cote, and two brothers Carroll Butch Cote and David Cote. Harry is survived by his seven children, Peter Cote of Hilton Head, South Carolina; Tom Cote and his wife Trena of Mt Sherman, Kentucky; Becky Cote and her husband Leon of Loudon; Susan Judd and her husband Michael of Wentworth; John Cote and his wife Leslie of Bristol, Vermont; Harry Cote, III of New Hampton, and Mary Baker and her husband Dan of Holderness. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jacob Baker, Allison Judd, Houston and Caroline Cote, Lexie Cote, Cassidy and Audrey Waldeck. He is survived by his sisters, Lucille Crookshanks of West Virginia, Jane Killian of Alabama, Jackie Melanson of Vermont, Brenda Christian of Maine and his brother Tim Cote of Massachusetts. He is also survived by thirty-five nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hill Avenue in Ashland at 11 a. m. Rev. Leo A. LeBlanc will be the celebrant. Burial to follow in Green Grove Cemetery in Ashland.
