Description	:	ELBERON-Harry L. Ledvina, age 80, of Elberon, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City due to a short illness. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in rural Toledo. Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2007 from 4-7:30 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with a Vigil Service at 7:30 PM. Harry L. Ledvina was born on December 13, 1926, in rural Elberon, the son of John and Mary (Pokorny) Ledvina. He served his country in the U. S. Army. He was married to Helen Buresh and they later divorced. Harry grew up and farmed in rural Tama County. He raised hogs, cattle, corn and beans. He spent many hours driving tractors, making hay, combining and doing custom work for area farmers. When time allowed, he enjoyed occasional fishing trips with family and close friends. His hobbies included dancing, playing cards, Casinos, fishing and car racing, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family at barbecues. Harry was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama, the KD Lodge and Catholic Order of Foresters, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama, the Elberon American Legion, and CSA in Vining. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother-in-law, Allen Vranek. Survivors include his loving companion; Karen Nekola of Elberon; his children, Robert (Candy Mennenga) Ledvina of Toledo, Thomas (Loretta) Ledvina of Elberon, Barbara (Daryl) Bazal of Vining, Patricia (Michael) Maas of Tucson, AZ, Judy Junge of Keystone, Steven (Elizabeth) Ledvina of Toledo, and Helen Jane (Mike) Ogbourne of West Des Moines; two step-children, Wayne and Lori Nekola; one brother, Melvin (Marilyn) Ledvina of Elberon; two sisters, Marcella Vranek of Marengo and Martha (Alvin) Plucar of Elberon; twenty-one grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established.
