Read More	Met Death in River Harry Carter, 22 years old, of Fieldsboro, met a sudden and tragic end on Saturday afternoon, when he lost his life while trying to rescue a female companion with whom he was swimming. His companion, Miss Anna Leonard, who was not a proficient swimmer, stepped in a deep hole. Carter rescued her, held her until help arrived, then sank beneath the water himself, a victim of heart disease. His body was recovered in a short time by Samuel Church, of Fieldsboro, and a post mortem examination proved that death was not caused by drowning. Coroner Gaskill, of Mt. Holly, granted permission for burial. Miss Leonard was taken from the water unconscious, and after being revived, was removed to her home, suffering from the shock and overwhelmed by grief. The young man was the youngest son of Theodore Carter. His mother's death occurred only a short time ago. He was a grandson of the late ex-Senator Wm. H. Carter. His father, stricken by grief at his loss, has the sympathy of the community. For the past two years, Carter had been the organist of Christ Episcopal church, this city and he intended to devote his life to the mastery of his art, in which he had already won more than a local reputation. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon, from Christ Church, where services were conducted by the rector, Rev. Morgan Ashley. The boy's choir of the church, which was to have left for its annual outing to the shore on Monday, postponed its trip in respect for the deceased, and assisted in the services. The interment was in the Bordentown cemetery in the family plot. The arrangements were in charge of C. B. Rogers. The pallbearers, all cousins of the deceased were: Walter Reeder, Ralph Reeder, Joseph R. Reeder, Joseph M. Reeder, Joseph Russell and Joseph Carter. He was buried on 8 Aug 1916 in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown, Burlington, NJ.
