James, 57, widely known Webster City trucker, died Sunday morning at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines following a short illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. R.N. Roden officiating and with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Harry Ray James, son of Harry Monroe and Mae Bowen Janes, was born Nov. 7, 1909m in a farm near Williams and was reared and educated in the Blairsburg-Jewell community. He was united in marriage December 7, 1932, at Jewell to Charollet Swensen of Radcliffe, and the couple farmed for two years one mile and a half north of Jewell then moved to a farm north of Ellsworth where they resided for three years. They purchased a farm north of Webster City where they made their home for three years, then moved to Webster City, their home since. Since that time he had engaged in the trucking business. He is survived by his wife; two sons and two daughters; Richard Janes, Mrs. Virgil (Charlene) Rockow, Mrs. Jack (Donna) Klein, and Roger Janes, all of Webster city; eight grandchildren, Keith, Barbara, Susan, Cheryl, Lloyd and Karen Janes, Lori and Lisa Rockow, and three brothers: O. F. Janes, Williams, Veryl Janes, Wesley, Iowa and James Janes, Blairsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Leonard. Mr. Janes was baptized in the Lutheran faith.
