Harry Schuler was born Sept. 14, 1884, at Harmony, Pa., one of five sons of Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Schuler. The family was one of the early Adams county pioneer families, moving here in 1886. He was married April 28, 1907, to Ida Heavner. He lived around Ritzville, Sprague and Paha all his life. Surviving are his wife, Ida Schuler, and his children: Mrs. Larean Zier of Spokane; Mrs. Joe (Verna) Burgess, Moses Lake; Clifford of Ritzville; Mrs. Lester (June) Sielaff, Ritzville; and Mrs. Ernest (Lois) Ahern, Spokane. One daughter, Sara Mann, died. There are 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The Schuler family, father and five sons, constructed many buildings in this area. In Ritzville they built the Hotel Davis, the Ritzville Flour Mill and the Lincoln school. Harry Schuler, as an individual, also built, in the early 20s, most of the concrete bridges in the county. He and helpers constructed several county roads, numerous wheat elevators, and in later years buildings such as the Bestway Building Center, the former S&K Motors and numerous new homes.
