He departed this life Aug. 6, 1975, at the Ottawa County Hospital, Minneapolis, at the age of 81 years, three months, and 21 days. He was a veteran of World War I and served in the U.S. Army in France in 1918. Prior to his marriage to Lillian Jones of Manchester, on July 7, 1934, he farmed in the Niles area and took care of his mother for a couple of years before she moved to town. ... He departed this life Aug. 6, 1975, at the Ottawa County Hospital, Minneapolis, at the age of 81 years, three months, and 21 days. Prior to his marriage to Lillian Jones of Manchester, on July 7, 1934, he farmed in the Niles area and took care of his mother for a couple of years before she moved to town. After he was married they made their home near Manchester where he was a farmer and stockman. He helped care for Mr. and Mrs. Jones until their death. Harvey resided in Manchester until 1972 when poor health caused he and Lillian to give up their home and enter the Mid-America Nursing Center, Abilene. He was a good husband and loving brother. He was active in church and community affairs of the Manchester area all of his married life. His wife, Lillian, preceded him in death Nov. 21, 1974. There were no children. He leaves to mourn two brothers; John, Oxford, and James, Bennington; four sisters: Pearl Baugh, Della Lott, Jessie Fox Smith, all of Bennington and Bessie Spivey, of Kansas City, Kan. Two nephews, Malcolm Stickley, Canon City, Colo., and Carl Stickley, Mission Viejo, Calif. Also many other nephews and nieces, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Stickley and Iva Blaha and a brother, Ted. The funeral was at the Haley Funeral Home, Aug. 9, 1975 and the body was laid to rest in the Bennington Cemetery. --Information furnished by Cheryl White
