Description	:	Minneapolis Messenger, Dec. 1, 1921, page 6: Andrew Cherry Injured Andrew Cherry, a well known citizen of Niles, was very seriously, if not fatally injured this week when a horse kicked him in the abdomen. The blow was so terrific that the intestines burst. Mr. Cherry has been brought to a hospital in Salina. His condition is regarded as extremely critical by the physicians in charge. On account of the seriousness of the injuries, Mr. Cherry was able to give little details regarding the mishap that occurred to him. ---- Salina Journal, Friday Minneapolis Messenger, Dec. 15, 1921, page 8: Bennington -- Andrew Cherry was born near Waverly, Pike county, Ohio, January 6, 1863, and died at Salina, Kansas, December 8, 1921 at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 2 days. He came to Kansas in 1887 and settled in Saline county where he resided until his death. He was married to Miss Nettie Smith March 13, 1887. To this union were born ten children. One daughter, Eva Stickley preceded her father in death, February, 1916. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Iva Blaha, Mrs. Della Lott, John, James, Harvey, Jessie and Teddie of Bennington; Mrs. Pearl Baugh of Texahoma, Okla., and Bessie Spivey of Salina; also seventeen grandchildren, five brothers, four sisters and a host of friends. He united with the M.E. church in 1916 of which he remained a faithful member. He was a charter member of the M.W.A. of Niles.
