In the 1925 Iowa Census, Ray O. and Anna Whitemore were living in Des Moines, with their daughter, three-year-old Frances Whitmore. When Anna's mother, Lora M. Diggs, died, Anna was living in Rock Island, Illinois as Anna Benell. Post, 78, a resident of Westgate Towers, died at 9 p.m. Friday at the Wapello County Home following an illness of several years. He was a retired employe of John Deere Ottumwa works. The son of Hiram L. and Mary E. Foster, Post, he was born in Davis County on Sept. 12 [sic], 1891. He was a resident of Ottumwa most of his life, and was a member of Latter Day Saints Church. His marriage to Goldie C. Johnson took place on Nov. 15, 1955, in Lancaster, Mo. She survives. Also surviving are two brothers, John R. Post of Ottumwa Route 4 and Everett E. Post of North Platte, Neb.; and two sisters, Mrs. Flora Harriage [sic] of Bloomfield Route 9 and Mrs. Lola Saner of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel with Bruce Burkett, the branch president of Latter Day Saints Church officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
