Lueck, who had lived in Pomeroy for almost 40 years, died Dec. 19, 1996, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. He was 85 years-old. He was born March 2, 1911, the son of William and Emma Boleanus Lueck, in Davenport, Wash., where he grew up and attended school. Mr. Lueck was a logger while he lived in Davenport and also worked for the Lincoln County Road Department there. He married Wilma Jean Brink on Aug. 28, 1933. They moved with their family to Pomeroy in 1949 and he worked in the woods here. In 1951, he began working for Dewey Brown & Sons Farms for several years. He later worked in maintenance for th City of Pomeroy and drove school bus. His wife Wilma died in 1987 and he moved to Uniontown in 1988 and he had lived there since. He married Betty Bielenberg on April 23, 1988 in Uniontown. Mr. Lueck was a member of Colton Grange, and a past worthy president of Clarkston Eagles Aerie No. 3936, and a past member of Pomeroy Eagles lodge. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards and working in his yard. Survivors include his wife Betty in Uniontown; two daughters, Sandra Holderbaum, Lewiston, and Ada Niebel, Pomeroy; son, Dwaine Lueck, Bullhead City, Ariz.; two sisters, Edna Sweet and Geraldine Austin, both of Puyallup, Wash.; a brother, Bill Lueck, Spokane; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson; six step-children and 14 step-grandchildren. A son, Larry Lueck, died Nov. 30, 1995, and two sisters, Lola Smith and Veron Thomas, and a brother, Lenny Lueck, also died earlier. A memorial service was held Dec. 23 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown with Fr. Patrick McMahon of that church officiating. A committal service will follow at Pomeroy City Cemetery with Fr. John Sand of Holy Rosary Catholic Church officiating. Cremation was chosen. Memorials may be sent to Shriners Hospital, P.O. Box 2472, Spokane, WA 99210-2472 or to American Cancer Society, in care of Marie Williams, Box 611, Pomeroy. Richardson-Brown Funeral Home in Pomeroy handled arrangements.
