Description	:	Harvey W. Preheim, son of Jacob P. Preheim and Mary (Waltner) Preheim, was born Sept. 16, 1914 on a farm near Freeman, S.D. Upon his confession of faith, Harvey was baptized on May 11, 1930. He became a member of Salem Mennonite Church where he remained a faithful servant of the Lord. Preheim and Mary (Waltner) Preheim, was born Sept. 16, 1914 on a farm near Freeman, S.D. Upon his confession of faith, Harvey was baptized on May 11, 1930. He became a member of Salem Mennonite Church where he remained a faithful servant of the Lord. He loved to teach Sunday school to both the young and old. His trust in the Lord can be heard in his favorite verse Psalms 121. On Sept. 14, 1937, he was united in marriage to Margaret Graber. They just celebrated 71 years together. Together they raised their family on their farm near Freeman. He worked hard and the ground holds his sweat, tears and blood where in 1976 he lost his hand in a farm accident. Harvey could always be found enjoying mulberries looking out on the most beautiful view of Turkey Ridge, which could be seen from his own backyard. Harvey passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 in Freeman. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one daughter, Janis; and two sons: Arlo and Roger, all of Freeman. He is also survived by four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Mylo and Dorothy; and three sisters-in-law: Ruth, Becky and Marguerite. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters. The funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Salem Mennonite Church with Rev. S. Roy Kaufman officiating and Harriet Kaufman as organist. Vocal music was provided by Kerwin Graber, Don Waltner, Gregg Waltner and LaVerne Graber. Pallbearers were Dwayne Preheim, Loris Becker, Ken Waltner, Glen Preheim, Ezra Preheim and Shane Preheim. Interment was at Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery. The family of Harvey W. Preheim.
