HATTIE BALDWIN Services at Methodist Church Monday Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock for Mrs. Hattie Baldwin who died at her home in Dunlap Friday. Rev. W. L. Hawn, pastor of the church officiated with interment in Pleasant Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barrett Funeral home. Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. Adah Rannells and Mrs. Jay Widney, accompanied by Mrs. R. G. Moore at the organ. Hattie LaLone, daughter of Mary and Fredrick LaLone, was born in Kemptville, Ontario, Canada, October 10, 1868 and passed away at her home in Dunlap July 8, 1949 at the age of 80 years, 8 months, 29 days. She was the oldest of a family of four children, of which two are still living. One brother, Alva LaLone preceded her in death. March 22, 1892 she was united in marriage to William Baldwin in Hexton, Ontario, Canada. The young couple came to Iowa the following fall and located on a farm near Dunlap. To this union was born 8 children, two preceding her in death. Those left to mourn her loss are Mrs. Bessie Hein of Dunlap, Mrs. Myrtle Christensen of Guthrie Center, Mrs. Pearl Hanneman of Dunlap, Jesse Baldwin of Woodland, California, Mrs. Juliette Hack of Dunlap, William Baldwin of Guthrie Center, one sister, Louise Mill of Council Bluffs, one brother, William LaLone of Dunlap, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of friends also survive her. Her husband preceded her in death June 8, 1942, after which she moved to Dunlap and made her home in an apartment at the Hattie Briggs home. Mrs. Baldwin was an active member of the Methodist Church until her health failed her. She had been in fair health until the last few weeks, then her health failed rapidly until her death Friday evening. She was also a member of Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodges for over 40 years. Those attending the funeral from out-of-town were: Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Baldwin and son, Byron Woodard of Woodland, California; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Moore of Council Bluffs: Mrs. Cecil Young of Lake Park; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Landee and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jackson, Mrs. Mary Fox of Logan.
