Hill, who passed away Saturday afternoon, February 21. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00, with Rev. Elsie Hartman officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in Hill Lake Cemetery, where she rests beside her husband who passed away on April 1, 1936. Interment was made in the family lot in Hill Lake Cemetery, where she rests beside her husband who passed away on April 1, 1936. Mrs. Hill, who was born Hattie Goodsel, in Freeport, Ill., on August 29, 1861 was 80 years of age her last birthday. In February of 1884 she was united in marriage to Alfred E. Hill at Parkersburg, Iowa, and to this union were born 6 children, three sons and three daughters. The family came to Hill City from Iowa in 1901, settling on the farm west of town. They were among the earliest settlers in this vicinity. They have been active in the affairs of the community, especially in those of Hill Lake township. Mrs. Hill was a lady beloved by all who knew here. A true friend, a loving wife and mother. She truly did her part in helping to build this community. She will be greatly missed by her neighbors and friends. One daughter Dora passed away in April, 1922, the other five children survive, Mrs. Emily Strom, Miss Ella Hill, Harry and Ernest of Hill City and Benjamin of Wendigo. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, a sister Mrs. Ella Mead of Cedar Rapids, Iowa besides her great host of friends with whom The News joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
