Read More	Havard F. Marcus, age 85, of Brandy Station went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 10, 2009 at Our Father's House Christian Home in Inlet, Va. He was born on January 24, 1924 in Loudoun County, Va. to the late William F. and Susie V. Boyd Marcus. He is survived by his sons, Frank and his wife, Charlotte of Williamsburg and Larry and his wife, Carlene of Herndon; his daughter, Janice Pelonero and her husband, John of Gastonia, N.C.; his brothers, Russell of Carlisle, Pa., Herman of Greenville, Va.; his sisters, Mary Hepner of Winchester and Evelyn James of Paeonian Springs, Va. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Belva; his son, Garry; brothers, William, Mahlon and Lester and his sisters, Leola Cubbage, Martha Lanham and Hyenthae Lanham. Havard lived and breathed gospel music and he particularly enjoyed playing the guitar while singing. He was a member of the Culpeper Assembly of God church for over 50 years and served there as a deacon and in various other capacities. For many years, he also sang at several rest homes in the Culpeper area becoming known affectionately as "Suppertime" because of a song he was often asked to sing. Faithfulness, reliability and consistency marked his service in the church, on the job, in the rearing of his family and in demonstration of his Christian values. His working career was solely devoted to the tending of Black Angus cattle. He worked for over 40 years as a herdsman at Brandy Rock Farm in Brandy Station. While at Brandy Rock he reared and groomed several Black Angus that were champions at various cattle shows in Virginia and around the country. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Culpeper Assembly of God, 120 Chestnut Dr., Culpeper, with the Rev. Randy Albritton, the Rev. Steve Dodson and the Rev. John Pelonero officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Lanham, Jerry Hoyt, Fred Marcus, Gary Taylor, Donnie James, Jimmie James, Pete Lanham and Mike Breeden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Our Father's House Christian Home, 15261 Jubilee Rd.
