| Description | : | Hazel B. Johnson, 98, of Wakonda, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Wakonda Heritage Manor. Hazel was born March 3, 1908 at Wakonda, to Lynn and Ida (Bierce) Ketchum. She grew up in the Wakonda area and graduated from Wakonda High School in 1926. She attended the University of South Dakota for two years and later taught in rural Clay County schools for four years. She married Everett Johnson in 1936 and the couple farmed in the Westerville area for many years. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church.
