ARTHUR, 82, of 255 Liberty St., Russiaville, Ind., died at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo Wednesday at 4:30 a.m. She had been ill for two years. She was born in Howard County May 9,1899 to Willard and Rachael HUESTON SHOOK. She was married to the Rev. Franklin ARTHUR April 30, 1922; he survives. She had lived in Howard, Tipton, Fulton, Carroll and Pulaski counties. She was a member of the Russiaville First Baptist Church and attended Mount Zion Community Church in Kokomo. She was born in Howard County May 9,1899 to Willard and Rachael HUESTON SHOOK. She was married to the Rev. Franklin ARTHUR April 30, 1922; he survives. She had lived in Howard, Tipton, Fulton, Carroll and Pulaski counties. She was a member of the Russiaville First Baptist Church and attended Mount Zion Community Church in Kokomo. Also surviving ar three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Betty) COLEMAN, Hendersonville, Tenn.; Mrs. Joseph (Mary) LOVELACE, Russiaville, and Carrie Maye ARTHUR, Kokomo; a fosterdaughter, Gail DIAL, Southport; a sister, Carrie MATHIS, Bunker Hill; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. A brother preceded in death. Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Stout Funeral Home in Russiaville with the Rev. Steven AGAL officiating. Burial will be in the Barnett Cemetery near Kokomo. Friends may call Friday after 3:30 p.m. Submitted by Paula D (#47183440) Arthur-Shook On Sunday, April 30, at high noon a very pretty home wedding was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Shook of Greenwood, when their daughter hazel Izola became the bride of J. Franklin Arthur of near Kokomo. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Albert Shook of Windfall, an uncle of the bride and also Rev. F. M. Huckleberry pastor of the Greenwood Baptist Church was present and offered prayer. The room was beautifully decorated with lilacs and tulips. The bride, wore a charming dress of navy blue taffeta, and carried a bouquet of lilies and roses. Those attending the bridal couple were Miss Anna Arthur sister of the groom, and Roscoe Shook, brother of the bride. Mrs. Carrie Mathas, sister of the bride played the wedding march and little Ralph Melson, cousin of the bride carried the ring in a large white lily. Others in attendance were: Mrs. John Arthur and Mr. Fred Erfcamp of near Kokomo, Mrs. Bernice Melson of Windfall, Mr. Phreno Mathas of Indianapolis, Francis Moss of Bunker Hill who is attending Franklin College, and Mrs. John Allen and little son John Jr. of Greenwood. After the ceremony, a bountiful wedding dinner was served. The bride was a graduate of the Bunker Hill High School with the class of 1918 and the groom graduated from the New London High School with the class of 1917. Both have attended Franklin College and both have been successful teachers in the public schools. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur left Sunday afternoon for their newly furnished home on the Mrs. John Uitts farm west of Kokomo where they will be at home to their friends after May 9th.
