Description	:	She was born on the family farm near Holland, Lancaster County, Nebraska. She was baptized on 3 November 1912 in the Holland Reformed Church, Holland, Nebraska. She attended country school near her home and High School in Hickman, Lancaster County, Nebraska. After graduation from Hickman High school and Peru State Teachers College, she married Arnold Fischer in the Pella Reformed church, where they both were members most of their lives. She gave birth to 3 children, Shirley, Dell and Eileen. After teaching school, she became a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and toiled many hours each day helping... Read More	She was born on the family farm near Holland, Lancaster County, Nebraska. She was baptized on 3 November 1912 in the Holland Reformed Church, Holland, Nebraska. She attended country school near her home and High School in Hickman, Lancaster County, Nebraska. After graduation from Hickman High school and Peru State Teachers College, she married Arnold Fischer in the Pella Reformed church, where they both were members most of their lives. She gave birth to 3 children, Shirley, Dell and Eileen. After teaching school, she became a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and toiled many hours each day helping with all of the responsibilities of farm life on farms they rented or owned near Firth, Douglas and Adams, Nebraska. In later years she was employed at Woodmen Accident and Life Insurance Company in Lincoln, Nebraska until her retirement in 1977. After moving to Lincoln, she also worked at the State of Nebraska Tax Office for many years and did product demos at many of the retail stores in Lincoln. She and Arnold also found time to make thousands of hand woven rugs on their loom that have been enjoyed by hundreds of family, friends and others from the community. She continued making rugs until she was 94 years old. After surgeries in 2006 and 2007 she moved from her home in Lincoln to Gold Crest Retirement/Care Center, in Adams, Gage County, Nebraska, where she enjoyed her time with other residents playing dominoes, bingo and pitch and she always played to win. She also enjoyed many games of parcheesi with her daughter Shirley and in earlier years with her mother. She was a very competitive scrabble player with family & friends. She witnessed the marriage of daughter Shirley to Duane Topp on May 22, 1953 and son Dell to Marlene Siddens on June 10, 1962. A very sad time in her life was the loss of daughter Eileen in an auto accident on August 13, 1956. She enjoyed the births, weddings and lives of 8 Grandchildren, 19 Great and 5 Great - Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends. She and Arnold enjoyed traveling and camping in their motor home and she loved her flowers and gardening.
