Nelson, wife of Mr. Earl Nelson, a former police officer of Crisfield, died at her home on Maple Avenue last Saturday morning, at the age of 48 years. She had been ill but a short time, and it was thought she was improving, until shortly before her death. Nelson, wife of Mr. Earl Nelson, a former police officer of Crisfield, died at her home on Maple Avenue last Saturday morning, at the age of 48 years. She had been ill but a short time, and it was thought she was improving, until shortly before her death. Born in 1901, she was the daughter of the late James and Charlotte Dize Ward, and her birthplace was on the farm where the McCready Hospital now stands. Mrs. Nelson was strong in the Christian faith, and was a staunch supporter and leader in the Church Of God. A fine wife and mother, she was held in high regard and affection by all who knew her, and her friends were many. Energetic and capable, she was devoted to her home and to her church, and to giving comfort and help to neighbors and friends in times of sorrow and distress. Many relatives and friends visited her home where she reposed until funeral services were held in the Church of God on Maryland Avenue at 2.00 p.m. on Monday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. T. Moorefield, and Dr. J. Yancey Fincher. Interment was in the Sunnyridge Memorial Park. The attendance at the funeral was large and many lovely floral pieces banking her casket were testimonials of the deep regard in which she was generally held. She is survived by her husband, and the following children: Earl Nelson, Jr., of Baltimore, Vernon Eugene Nelson, Royce W. Nelson, John Paul Nelson, David Phillips Nelson, and Dorcas Lydia Nelson, all of Crisfield. Two sisters, Mrs. Milbourne (Alda) Elliott and Mrs. Wm. E.
