Hazel Mildred (Wells) Wynne, 98 years of age, of Roswell, New Mexico (formerly of Alma), passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Brookdale Country Club – Memory Care Center in Roswell. Hazel was born July 17, 1917 in Lincoln County, Nebraska, near Hershey, the 5th of 9 children born to Fredrick William (Bill) and Clara Caroline (Culp) Lindekugel. She received her education from Star Rural School District #17 and then attended Star High School in Hershey, graduating from with the class of 1936. She then pursued higher education at North Platte Beauty Academy in North Platte, Nebraska. On April 7, 1937, Hazel was united in marriage to Roy Frank Wells in Hershey and to this union one son, James William was born. The family made their home in Waterloo, Iowa for 13 years until returning to Hershey in 1949 to begin farming. In 1959, they made their home south of Republican City, Nebraska, where they continued to engage in farming until 1984. Roy and Hazel moved into Alma where they resided until Roy's passing in 1985. On August 3, 1991, she was united in marriage to William Robert (Bill) Wynne at the Immanuel Scandinavian Lutheran Church on the Holdrege Prairie Home Museum Grounds in Holdrege, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Alma until Bill's passing in 2005. Hazel had a passion for traveling and spent many years wintering in Las Vegas. She also enjoyed rag rug making and was a past member of the Abide Awhile Club in Hershey. Besides her parents and both husbands, Hazel is preceded in death by; her son, James in 2009; five brothers: Charles Lindekugel and his wife, Florence, twin brothers, Ivan Lindekugel and his wife, Nina and Irvan Lindekugel in infancy, August Lindekugel and Floyd Lindekugel; three sisters: Bertha Lindekugel, Edna Lindekugel and Esther Founds and her husband, Clifford; and sister-in-law, Lola Lindekugel.
